ABOUT JAN FIJOLEK
I am an Australian landscape photographer based in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia and one of the most isolated cities in the world. I love photography and I love travelling. I do not know if I am a travelling photographer or photographing traveller, but the fact is I love both. They are my lifelong passions, so it is obvious that landscapes and travel are my prime photography genres.
I enjoy travelling to faraway places on the planet, such as Antarctica, Alaska or to the remote places in the Australian outback, especially in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. I have achieved one of my biggest travel goals, I have visited all 7 continents. There are many more goals I would like to achieve.
I am hoping that by “freezing time” with my images, I will be able to preserve, at least digitally, the unspoiled beauty of the world for future generations, or at least for the few who find them interesting.
Nikon is the camera I use, currently a D800 with Nikon lenses 16 – 35mm, 24 – 70mm and 70-200mm lenses for nature, landscapes, and night photography, and a Rokinon 14mm lens for Milky Way and night sky photography.
I hope you will enjoy looking at my images as much as I enjoyed taking them.
